Ground Fennel – Serbuk Jintan Manis
BABA’S Fennel Powder is made from finely ground fennel seeds, giving your cooking a warm, slightly sweet flavour with a gentle liquorice-like aroma.
Commonly used in Malaysian and Indian cooking, fennel powder is especially good in chicken curry, mutton curry, beef curry and vegetable dishes. It also adds a lovely fragrance to homemade spice blends and marinades.
For Malaysian-style ayam goreng berempah, try combining fennel powder with cumin, coriander, turmeric and other spices to marinate the chicken before frying.
Unlike cumin (jintan putih), fennel (jintan manis) has a sweeter, more delicate flavour. Both are commonly used together in traditional Malaysian cooking.
