Tiger Brand Salted Black Soya Beans are a traditional Chinese cooking ingredient known for their rich, salty and savoury flavour.
Commonly called Tau Si or Dou Chi, these fermented black soybeans are popular in Malaysian Chinese home cooking, particularly for steamed fish with black beans, black bean chicken, pork ribs and stir-fried bitter gourd.
The beans can be used whole or lightly mashed with garlic, ginger and chilli to make a fragrant black bean sauce.
